As you know, there is a quite a mixed varity of  exercises found advisable to your heart.Among them I suppose aerobic exercise is the last word in it!   That is to say exercises such as walking briskly, jogging at least half an hr a day//running, swimming and cycling. ( It  is based on a simple logic that )The deeper you breathe the harder the heart works to   pump blood-That is just logic!/That is the underlying logic! So that for a healthy body you need to take a MODERATE/STRENOUS/ˈstren.ju.əs// or VIGOROUS/ exercise as per your doctor's advice. 
Exercises largly, it raises your heart rate and thus burns/consumes/expend calories. ..Likewise, as might be expectedthere ARE ALSO OTHER EXECISES like   going gym or doing yoga,....
